Smart Reminders: How to Avoid Forgotten and Wasted Bookings
The biggest booking problem isn't booking — it's no-shows
Most booking systems are good at reserving time. But what happens when someone books laundry time and forgets it? The machine sits empty, other residents can't get access, and frustration builds.
This is where smart notifications make all the difference.
Push notifications straight to your phone
Booking Map is an app you install on your phone. That means we can send you a notification just like a regular app — even when the browser is closed.
You get notified when:
- Your booking is approaching (reminder before it starts)
- A booking is cancelled by the board or an administrator
- Maintenance is scheduled on a resource you use
How it reduces no-shows
A simple reminder 30–60 minutes before your laundry slot starts means people actually remember to show up — or have time to cancel.
When someone cancels, the slot is freed immediately for other residents. No empty machines, no waste.
Everything in the resident's language
Notifications are sent in the language the resident chose — Norwegian or English. The same goes for emails and the entire app.
Privacy first
Notifications are completely optional. Residents decide whether to turn them on, and can switch them off anytime in their profile. We never send marketing via push — only what's relevant to your bookings.
