Shared Parking, Cargo Bikes and More — Booking Beyond the Laundry Room

Booking isn't just for laundry

When we say "booking system for housing co-ops," most people think washing machines. But Booking Map works for ANYTHING that needs time-based access.

Here are 7 creative use cases we're seeing:

1. Guest parking

Most housing co-ops have 1-3 guest parking spots. Without a system: chaos. With booking: fair distribution, no conflicts.

Setup: Add "Guest Parking" as a product with 24-hour time slots.

2. Cargo bike

More and more housing co-ops invest in shared cargo bikes. Perfect for IKEA trips, grocery runs, or daycare drop-offs.

Setup: "Cargo Bike" with flexible time slots (2-8 hours).

3. Rooftop terrace / common area

Many newer buildings have shared rooftop terraces or courtyards that can be reserved for parties.

Setup: "Rooftop Terrace" with day booking or evening time slots.

4. Tool shed

Collect the co-op's tools in one place. Residents book what they need.

Setup: Separate product per tool, or "Tool Shed Access" with time slots.

5. Hobby room / workshop

Have a shared hobby room? Booking ensures it's not overcrowded.

Setup: "Hobby Room" with 2-3 hour time slots, optionally with capacity > 1.

6. EV charging

With more electric cars than charging points, booking is needed. Especially relevant for older buildings with limited infrastructure.

Setup: "Charging Point 1", "Charging Point 2" with 4-8 hour slots (overnight charging).

7. Meeting room / board room

The board needs space for meetings, and sometimes residents want to borrow it.

Setup: "Board Room" with hourly time slots.

How to get started

All of this can be set up in Booking Map in under 5 minutes per resource. You don't need a new system for each use case — just add more products.

Bonus tip: Place QR codes by the resources so residents can scan and book directly.
